Many people dream of working in professional sports, yet they don’t know where to start. Particularly for LGBTQ people, who have long felt the sports world is not a welcoming place, this can feel daunting.

Along with Homefield Alliance, Outsports is bringing together several young sports professionals to talk about how they started their careers in sports, and what they’ve learned about building a career going forward. You can register for this event by clicking here.

They’ll also talk about how being LGBTQ has impacted them, and the priority they personally place on ensuring their workplace is a welcoming place for all.

The featured voices for the conversation:

  • Lee Cary, Philadelphia 76ers, Social Responsibility Manager
  • Noel Guevara, Arizona Diamondbacks, Manager, Special Events & Community Programs
  • Sam Rapoport, NFL, Senior Director, Diversity & Inclusion
  • Alex Reimer (moderator), Outsports, Deputy Managing Editor

Outsports is partnering with Homefield Alliance for the event. Homefield Alliance is a nonprofit that exists to foster community, mentorship and professional development for LGBTQIAA+ professionals and their allies in the sports and entertainment industry. You can follow Homefield Alliance on Twitter and Facebook.

Many of the speakers are also part of Equality Coaching Alliance, a network of sports professionals.
