Breanna Stewart has upset some trans fans with her new collaboration with Puma — sneakers that showcase the Harry Potter universe.
The WNBA superstar, who recently won her third-straight Olympics gold medal in women’s basketball, chose to embrace the Harry Potter world in her new sneaker line with Puma. The company, obviously, agreed.

On the backside, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has upset many trans advocates with statements about what it is to be a woman, including who should be allowed to compete in women’s sports. Many supporters of trans athletes have pushed back on Rowling.
Puma has over the last few years touted its relationship with the Trevor Project. While it might be hard to understand everything that’s come from the partnership, certainly millions of dollars have been donated to the LGBTQ non-profit organization.
Stewart and the New York Liberty are currently the No. 1 seed in the 2024 WNBA Playoffs.
The sneakers are selling for $130 a pair, and you can find them here.
