Update: ESPN has fired Curt Schilling, as well they should have
Update: Schilling is claiming on Twitter that he didn't make the post. He has deleted it from his Facebook page. Here is the screen capture:
ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
Curt Schilling, one of ESPN's baseball commentators, yesterday posted an absolutely disgusting photo and caption on Facebook in regards to access to public facilities for transgender people. While trying to link trans people to this image is grotesque, I include it on this post as a demonstration of just how horrific Schilling's public display is on this issue:
Lest anyone think Schilling shouldn't be held accountable because it was just a "repost" from someone else on Facebook, he doubled down in a comment on the photo:
Maybe making the matter even worse, one of ESPN's MLB editors is a trans woman: Christina Kahrl. How does the company tell Kahrl anything but, "We reject this message and this man"?
Schilling has become known for acting like a total jerk on social media, trolling Muslims on a regular basis.
ESPN has been very out-front on LGBT issues and incredibly supportive over the years. While there can certainly be some respectful disagreement on issues, Schilling leaves no room for that here. I cannot imagine a firing (or at least a very lengthy suspension) by ESPN isn't in Schilling's very near future.

I would sign a petition calling for his firing
How does he still have a job?

Get a life!
People have different opinions, run to your safe place and get over it.
By Sprad520 on 04.20.16 5:36pm
People are entitled to those opinions.
They are also entitled to deal with the consequences of said opinions.
You have a right to support Schilling. Nubbin has a right to call for his firing. I have the right to call you an asshole.
All of us have the right to deal with the results of expressing said opinion.
By Hasukawa on 04.20.16 5:40pm
who is the asshole?
Its no surprise you like this author- you two make the same points for shock value… No one supported Schilling, "asshole", and he fact that the author of the article makes fun of the very same guy Schilling does in the meme is further proof that you are all assholes, guided by authors like the asshole who wrote this article… How do you base a premise of acceptance by calling the guy in the original picture grotesque… Is transgender only acceptable when it is appealing to the eye? You are all a bunch of smoke blowing assholes who would rather be heard than seen- I mean, how the hell do you miss that demeaning comment by the author if you are so equal rights? Douche.
By Ryanp26 on 04.21.16 12:32am
You missed my point.
I deliberately called you an asshole. You fired back, as is your right.
Outsports has the right to remove both of our posts should they find them offensive or that they do not contribute to the discussion.
The gentleman in the picture is NOT transgendered, he is MOCKING the transgendered. Bit of a different thing, that.
By Hasukawa on 04.21.16 5:42am
How do you know
How do you know from a pic that this man was mocking trans people? He may very well be trans. The truth is that most trans women look like men in drag, many are ugly as are many people who are not trans. The vast majority of Americans DO NOT want penises in the restroom with their daughters. It opens the door for molesters and other perverts to go into women’s restrooms and set up cameras or spy on law abiding citizens.Any pervert can now throw on some women’s clothing and go into a women’s restroom and do their thing.America should be smarter than this.
By arbysauce21 on 04.22.16 11:31am
Look at the outfit.
The deliberately bad wig, the cut out breast area, etc.
This is more along the line of a drag queen trying to be provocative OR someone mocking the transgendered.
And STOP with the false equivalence argument. Those that are going to break the law will do so regardless if transgendered are allowed into a restroom or not.
As I have asked others, who is going to check for penises going into the restroom? Will ALL women have to get groped now just to go potty?
By Hasukawa on 04.22.16 11:39am
You know what else opens the door for perverts?
Their hands. Most bathrooms are equipped with fairly easy-to-open doors. Try it the next time you’re at the mall! You can go in any restroom you want right now! In 2016!

Exactly
And people have opinions about other peoples opinions don’t they? Get over it.
By yoyosaint on 04.21.16 6:47am
Why wouldn't he?
cause you’re a pussy and words hurt you? lol embarrassing.
By N00bPwn3r on 04.20.16 6:13pm
Nope. Because he is a public figure and a representative of ESPN.
ESPN has spent a decade building a relationship with the LGTBQ Community, and his comments are in direct conflict with their public policy.
As one of their employees, he is expected to uphold those policies. As a public figure, that includes on his Social Media accounts.
He can say what he wants, sure. He can also deal with the consequences of saying what he wants.

FOX SPORTS
he should just go to Fox Sports, Does anyone watch ESPN any more? The libs have taken it over years ago

Probably yes
ESPN has made it pretty clear that its media personalities are not supposed to engage in political discussions. If they feel that you are damaging the brand, they can fire you.
Even if they can’t I think at some point ESPN/ABC/Disney would just pay him to leave. At some point this costs you.
By James Mee on 04.19.16 11:59am
Makes sense.
Yeah, worst case scenario, they just pay him to go away.
By eastTXRR on 04.19.16 6:56pm
More specifically, if the opinion is unaligned with ESPN view of the world then that is an issue – big difference.
By P Pearson on 04.20.16 8:47pm
He was suspended last year for posting on Twitter comparing Muslim people to Nazis:

"men’s room was designed for the penis , women’s not so much"
Yes, they are completely different – men’s rooms have stalls, toilets, sinks, and hand dryers whereas women’s rooms have stalls, toilets, sinks, and hand dryers. Granted men’s rooms also have urinals but that is literally the only difference.
He is just a bigoted idiot but I am wouldn’t hold my breath for his suspension.
By KT84 on 04.19.16 12:27pm
I’ve heard reports that the women’s restroom also has nice couches and a DJ #MiddleSchoolRumors

Funny picture
I laughed, but felt guilty afterward. That photo is offensive to stupid white males.
By francis5900 on 04.21.16 12:23am
Man, this is getting out of hand
Curt Schilling is one of the faces of what’s being called the New Right, right-leaning people who think their open, almost comical backlash against and bigotry toward progressive movements is somehow "noble" and "Godly". He’s a "martyr" for his cause.
No, he’s a clown and needs to hit the road ASAP.
By PhillyBeach93 on 04.19.16 12:56pm
They still haven't fired Chris Broussard so I'm not holding my breath.
