Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens does not want to share his quarterback, Tony Romo, with anyone, let alone Jessica Simpson.
“Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite — in this locker room or in Texas Stadium,” Owens said three days after Romo had his worst game of the season with Simpson watching from a Texas Stadium luxury box. Her appearance, coinciding with a Cowboys defeat, has made her less than popular with Dallas fans.
“With everything that has happened, obviously the way Tony played and the comparison between her and Carrie Underwood, I think a lot of people feel like she’s kind of taken his focus away,” said Owens. Last year, Romo’s ex-girlfriend Underwood, also watched him lose in person.
“Other than that, she was hot on my list until last week. Oh, I got a message for her when we make the playoffs. Just stay tuned.” Oooh, a cat fight.
I just think T.O. is jealous that Romo is not all his. As I wrote in 2004 after Owens implied that his former San Francisco 49ers teammate Jeff Garcia was gay: Owens should be the last guy inferring that someone is gay. He fits several gay stereotypes: He’s single and flamboyant and totally obsessed with his body. He loves parading around during practice clad in form-hugging lycra warmup clothes even in the coldest of weather. He also did the gayest thing I ever saw on a football field when he shook pom-poms after scoring a touchdown in 2002. –Jim Buzinski
