Jake Deitchler, a recent High School graduate and Minnesota State recruit, just qualified for the Olympics in Greco-Roman Wrestling. The kid won his last match to qualify as the U.S. representative in the 145.5 weight class, besting some heavy hitters on his way.
The hot 18 year old even beat Harry Lester, the heavy favorite, 24 year old who won gold at the Pan-Am Games. I wrestled from the time I was 6, all through high school, so I love to see a kid with this kind of talent do well. I’ll be watching him closely, and not just because he is an amazing wrestler. -Brenton Metzler
