bloom_steeler.jpgOutsports’ former two-time King of the Hardwood Jeremy Bloom spent 2007 out of football, but he was signed six months ago to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad. He’ll be aiming to make the team when they hit training camp later this month.

But Jeremy has been very busy off the football field, as well. In June, he started The Donna Wheeler Foundation, which fulfills the lifelong dreams of seniors. And if you’re anywhere near Loveland, Colo., this Saturday, Bloom is hosting a free football clinic there; it’s where he attended high school.

Pretty cool that a kid trying to make a football squad would make time for these endeavors benefiting both young and old. And if you happen to head over to the football clinic, do us all a favor: Ask him to take his shirt off and take some pictures.

Luckily, he already did that and someone was there with a camera. Boy, he has put on some muscle! -Cyd Zeigler jr.
