We have an incredibly diverse membership because we welcome swimmers of all skill levels, ages, genders, and orientations. In 2008, over 50 of us competed in the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics (IGLA) swim meet, about half of whom competed for the first time. Many Fins have set national masters records, IGLA records and have placed in the top ten in national masters rankings. We have a strong presence in the Philadelphia LGBTQ community. Since 1998, we have hosted an annual charity swim event to benefit local non-profit organizations. We are known as a fun and social group, and have won prizes in the Philly Gay Pride Parade. |
