 Federal Triangles Soccer Clubfederaltriangles.org Washington, DC Soccer Founded: 1990 The Federal Triangles Soccer Club (FTSC) fields 12 soccer teams who compete in the Washington, DC, area men’s, women’s and coed outdoor and indoor leagues. Five FTSC teams won division championships in 2008! In 2008, FTSC sent teams to tournaments in London, Barcelona, Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta and Provincetown. In 2008, FTSC enrolled a club record 117 paid members. The FTSC motto is: “Building Community Through Sport” and FTSC volunteers participate in a significant number of Washington, DC GLBT events. FTSC is a member of the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association (IGLFA) and Team DC, a group of GLBT sports groups. FTSC was awarded the 2009 IGLFA World Championship tournament, June 14-21 in Washington, DC. |  Cardiff Dragons Football Clubcardiffdragonsfc.co.uk Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom Soccer Founded: 2008 Unlike any other soccer club in Wales, we enable gay and lesbian players to meet and play in a safe and organised environment. We welcome players of all ages, abilities and sexualities and believe they should be able to play without fear of discrimination on or off the pitch, helping those who take part to improve their ability and stay healthy. We also play in a national league against similar clubs from across the United Kingdom and give gay and lesbian players the opportunity to travel around the country while partaking in their favourite sport. The league and the club have proved a forum for players to make friends and form relationships across the country. |
