Nick Adenhart was just getting his major league career off the ground. He pitched six scoreless innings last night, looking sharp and every bit the top prospect that the 22 year old had been purported to be. And then the unimaginable happened.

He was driving home last night when his car was struck in Fullerton, California by a mini-van driven by drunk driver Andrew Gallo and was killed almost instantly. Gallo fled the scene according to police and was arrested later that evening and charged with driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter in the deaths of Adenhart and 2 of his 3 passengers.

I'm sure I speak for the entire Outsports team when I say our deepest condolences go out to Adenhart's family.
