Former Chicago Bears Coach and now ESPN analyst Mike Ditka called being gay a "choice" one has to "tolerate," adding he doesn't have a problem with it. He made his remarks at the Super Bowl in New Orleans on ESPN in regard to the anti-gay comments made by San Francisco 49ers defensive back Chris Culliver. Said Ditka:

“I know what my beliefs are. I believe in my beliefs. I don’t question any one else’s beliefs. Whether it’s religion or anything else. That’s why this is America. We have these choices to make. We don’t live by the same choices. But, you know, you gotta tolerate other people’s choices. It wouldn’t bother me at all.”

“Well said,” was the reply of the ESPN host Hannah Storm.

My response: Watching Mike Ditka is a choice that I don’t have to tolerate, but if other people want to watch him, I will tolerate their choice.
