British diver Tom Daley, who came out as dating a man last year, says gay men now come up to him and "offer it there and then." Why I am not surprised?
In an interview with the Sun (behind a pay wall), Daley says he is happy being out. "Some people come up to me and say, 'Do you want to go back?' and I'm like, 'What do you mean? The whole reason I did this was because I have a boyfriend.' "
Daley is reportedly dating screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and says reaction to him coming out has been almost totally positive, with some odd encounters.
One woman told him : "I'd just like to thank you because you inspired my son, when he saw your video it inspired him to tell me he was gay. And I was like, 'Oh wow! Oh my god. Tell him I said hi and good job,' and all that kind of stuff … And she was like, 'Yeah, but he does have a wife and three children.' And I was like, 'Oh s***.' "
Daley has expressed nothing but happiness in the interviews he has done since coming out and his diving career is none worse for the wear.
