The St. Louis Rams cut 17 players today, and Michael Sam was not among those cuts, according to various sources. They reduced their roster from 73 to 58 players; But NFL rule they must cut five more players by 4pmET on Saturday. USA Today's TomPelissero tweeted:

NFL.com's Michael Silver sent this to his followers:

If true, the cutting of Brown and Harlan leaves 11 defensive lineman still on the team. The Rams will most likely keep nine or 10 DL players.

The Rams have already cut the players they selected with the 214th and 226th picks in the 2014 NFL Draft. Sam was selected with the 249th pick.

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher has scheduled a press conference for 4:30pmET on Saturday. Five more cuts need to happen before then.
