Michael Sam's first NFL game taking the field with the St. Louis Rams is this Friday, Aug. 8, as the Rams host the New Orleans Saints. The game will be broadcast live on NFL Network. Kickoff is 8pmET. If you don't have NFL Network on your TV, you can get all preseason games over the Internet for $19.99.

Outsports will be at the game, tweeting all afternoon and evening from St. Louis and the Edward Jones Dome.

According to the Turf Show Times, Sam is listed third on the Rams depth chart for right defensive end, which means he'll get lots of playing time this week against the Saints' third- (and second-) team offense. This was to be expected for a rookie battling a largely established defensive line for a roster spot.

Sam will also likely make appearances on special teams as he has been getting work there with the team. The chances of Sam making the team, like so many rookies across the NFL, could rest on his special teams play.
