Jim Thomas was right: Michael Sam showed up well in first half

New, comments

St. Louis Post-Dispatch Rams beat writer Jim Thomas was on the Outsports podcast yesterday predicting a good game from Michael Sam today. He said the openly gay rookie defensive end had played well in practice, at times really standing out, but that Sam would likely play very well against the New Orleans Saints.

So far, Thomas was right. In the first half Sam had at least three pressures, pushing the quarterback from the pocket each time. He also stopped a running back in the backfield; He failed to make the tackle but the team cleaned up and held the runner for no gain.
