ESPN and "Outside the Lines" host Bob Let should have known that when you have country singer and all-around rabble rouser Kinky Friedman on live, he's liable to say anything. And he did, saying that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are gay lovers after their famous hug last weekend.

Ley: As Texan as they come, when you watch your Cowboys owner with this Northeast governor and the national fascination with it, what do you think about?

Friedman: Jerry Jones and Chris Chistie are probably the most important latent homosexual relationship since Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson.

Ley: You don’t really mean that obviously.

Friedman: Well, they both desperately want to be loved, they want to be loved and I agree that being in the owner’s box is not the way.

Later in the segment Friedman called Christie "anti-Texas, thin-sock wearing son-of-a-b****" and a "Yankee." Ley then cut him off, saying, "OK, thank you, Kinky. Thank you," and adding that "we'd also like to apologize for the earlier comment by Friedman."
If only they were gay lovers, how cool would that be? I know many people's reactions would be "ew, gross" and I admit it's not as hot a pairing as, let's say, Eric Decker and Brady Quinn. But if the owner of the most popular team in the NFL and the governor of a major state were a gay couple, that would be progress. Alas, they are both straight and married to women and Kinky was just being Kinky. But it did make for some good TV.
