"All smiles, all day." This is what Gus Kenworthy wrote on Facebook on Friday, a day after coming out as gay. The silver medal winner in Sochi and now ranked No. 1 in the world by the Assn. of Freeskiing Professionals, Kenworthy made his biggest impact, though, by coming out on Thursday and he has been on a high since.
He even had time to get silly for a Halloween party, dressing up as the hottest mouse anyone has seen:
Kenworthy has learned what every other LGBT athlete who has come out has discovered: It is liberating to be out of the closet and it goes better than you ever dreamed.
"To think I was nervous about what type of feedback I was gonna get after my story came out this morning," he wrote on Facebook. "I am truly blown away by the amount of love and support that I've been receiving! Thank you all so much for your kind words, I've never felt happier to be me! Love y'all."
Kenworthy has taken to social media to share the high he's been on since Thursday:
Still awake. Spent the past few hours reading all your tweets and I’ve never felt more loved. Thank you, again, for your kindness & support!
