As the PanAm Games kick off this weekend, several LGBT-focused events will continue to demonstrate Canada's commitment to building inclusion of LGBT people in sports.

Next week, The 519 will host a Sport Inclusion Summit focused on building inclusion at the recreational level of sport. The 519 is a City of Toronto agency "committed to the health, happiness and full participation of the LGBTQ community."

From the event's Web site:

"To ensure that sport and recreation is accessible and welcoming to people of all identities, ages and ability levels we're drawing together leading voices from five distinct and vital fields —Municipal Parks and Recreation Departments, Provincial and National Sport Organizations, LGBT Sport Organizations, the Pride House Movement and the Educational Sector."
