For decades it was assumed that the LGBT community had little interest in sports outside of some softball teams. Those stereotypes have gone by the wayside, replaced by an explosion in the last decade of, among other things, sports (and sporty) bars catering to lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans men and women.
With Super Bowl LII coming to a television near you this Sunday, we figured it was time to visit the fast-growing list of these bars and pubs.
Whether you’re a casual reveler looking to party during America’s biggest unofficial holiday, or a hardcore football fan hoping to cheer on the New England Patriots or Philadelphia Eagles with some fellow LGBT diehards, check out the list of gay sports bars below and head to the nearest one this Sunday for what will hopefully be a great game.
