Coors Field will again play host to an LGBT Pride Night, as One Colorado is organizing an event at a Colorado Rockies game for the second year in a row. The game will take place Friday, June 1, against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Last year Outsports and One Colorado teamed up to sell almost 700 tickets, raising nearly $3,500 for One Colorado. It coincided with Denver Pride, while this year is a couple weeks before the big LGBT Fest because the Rockies are on the road that weekend.

Pride Night is not an official event on the team’s calendar. While more and more Major League Baseball teams, as well as teams in the NBA, WNBA, NHL and other leagues, are making LGBT Nights official team events, others like the Rockies are still wary of doing so. Hopefully that can change in future years.

One way to help make that change is to support this year’s event! Tickets are $19 or $29, and a portion of each ticket goes to One Colorado’s efforts to build LGBT inclusion in the state. Check out the event’s Facebook page, or head directly to the Rockies’ Web site to purchase your tickets to the game.
