The Olympic Games and Paralympics have long been favorites of Outsports readers. It’s easy to understand why. No other major sporting event gives fans so many publicly out LGBTQ athletes to cheer for every two years. With the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games around the corner, we’re expecting over 100 out athletes and coaches to compete.

In his Five Rings To Rule Them All podcast, each week Cyd Zeigler talks with an LGBTQ person in and around the Olympic Games. Some, like soccer player Robbie Rogers, have his fond memories of the Olympics in the rear-view mirror. Others, like Amini Fonua, hope to return to the Games in Tokyo in hopes of redeeming what he felt was his sub-par performance in Rio. And still others, like Nikki Hiltz, hope to make their first Olympic team.
