OutShouts:

Where will you be two years from today? The organizers of the 2022 Gay Games in Hong Kong hope we’ll all be there and that the coronavirus pandemic — and anti-government unrest — won’t interfere with their plans! Dennis Philipse posted this in the Equality Coaching Alliance:

“HONG KONG LOOKS TO THE FUTURE WITH THE GAY GAMES IN 2022”

The GGHK team recently celebrated the official countdown to the Opening Ceremony of GGHK which will take place on November 12, 2022, at the Hong Kong Stadium.

“Becoming Asia’s first city to host Gay Games isn’t just a cause for pride and celebration for Hong Kong; it drives home the message that the LGBTI community and indeed all in society deserve to be visible, represented and included in sports and other areas of life,” – Mr Ricky CHU Man-kin, Chairperson of Hong Kong’s Equal Opportunities Commission.

If you’re an LGBTQ person in sports looking to connect with others in the community, head over to GO! SPACE to meet and interact with other LGBTQ athletes, or to Equality Coaching Alliance to find other coaches, administrators and other non-athletes in sports.

Highlights from Social Media:

As I mentioned earlier, it’s almost Trans Awareness Week, and former amateur softball pitcher Melody Maia Monet, who is a lesbian trans woman in Central Florida as well as my BFF, shared this on her Instagram.

Crossfitter Graham Snelson isn’t letting the lockdown keep him from running and setting a personal record! He shared this on Instagram using the hashtag #gayathlete:

There is no denying the scientific fact that wearing a mask not only protects you, it protects others. Billie Jean King tweeted this message for everyone as the pandemic reaches new heights, and shows no signs of letting up:
