Jace Anderson has found his muse.
The former Univ. of Nebraska athlete has taken time over the last few months, living back home in Nebraska after a post-graduation stint in Los Angeles, to pursue a passion he’s kept hidden from view for years: singing.
“During this quarantine I’ve had a moment to reflect on what I want to do with my life,” he told Outsports. “I want to be in entertainment. I want to be a performer. I’ve always ben musically inclined. My mom was a singer and a musician growing up, and we always had a piano around the house.”
It was his rendition of “Hallelujah” that caught my ear. But it’s his cover of “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman that has me playing it over and over. It’s really well done, and Anderson’s natural personality shines in it.
He’s also got a cover of Billie Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes” that’s really beautiful.
Growing up, Anderson went “the sports route” instead of pursuing music. That served him well, as he had an award-winning career competing for the Huskers track and field team in the long jump and triple jump.
Since graduating he’s been working on his voice with friends and artists as he has pursued that career in entertainment. He said he has some natural ability, and now he wants to put in the work.
Looking to return to Los Angeles later this year, he’s going to continue to pursue acting and other careers in entertainment. Hollywood beckons.
