If you're in the New York area on Thursday, be sure to check out the Invisible Athlete forum at NYU. The forum is moderated by You Can Play founder Patrick Burke and will feature former NFL player Wade Davis, former UPenn hockey captain Dave Farber and two-time Olympic gold medal soccer player Angela Hucles.

The forum is designed having a straight person (Burke) interview gay athletes about their "invisible" lives while they were playing sports. The event is open to the public (register here), and there will be time to ask questions.

Various members of the LGBT Sports Coalition will also be there, including (so we hear) Hudson Taylor, who has been speaking at colleges across the country for the last two years, and Aaron McQuade of GLAAD, who has been working with various pro sports leagues to create similar events for their rookies. It should be a powerful (if not ground-breaking) community event!
