Ryan Getzlaf of the Anaheim Ducks makes $9.25 million a year. He was fined $10,000 by the NHL for using a homophobic slur in a playoff game. Yet some Ducks fans have started a GoFund Me page to pay his fine.
Ryan Getzlaf was unfairly given the maximum fine by the sinister NHL for accurately calling a ref a rooster vacuum. Now if everyone donates just $1 we can raise enough money to send a message to the NHL that no more will this kind of snowflake over reaction to words stand. If we are able to raise enough money it can go to the ducks captain to give to a local charity of his choice. Let's make 10k go somewhere it's going to do some good (instead of the players association fund). At any rate I ask all ducks fans and all Bettman haters to unite and undue this terrible injustice! Ducks fly together!
Getzlaf called the referee a cocksucker and then issued a terrible non-apology apology where he seemed most upset by getting caught. He showed zero remorse and was lucky he wasn’t suspended for one game like a player last year was for using a homophobic slur.
So far, 24 people have donated $260, but even paying a penny to support Getzlaf in this case is absurd. If they want to give money to charity, donate directly to one instead of supporting a player who should be glad he got off easy for using a slur. Fans are idiots.
