As the Gay Games' final decision for the location of the 2014 games draws near, the three cities in contention are rolling out the red carpet. A small committee of Gay Games representatives visited Cleveland last week, Boston this week, and they're on to Washington D.C. this weekend.
Roger Brigham, a longtime Federation of Gay Games member, gives some insight into these visits. With all the past financial woes of these big quadrennial gay sports events, I wonder how smart it is for the cities or host committees to spend money on rock concerts and expensive dinners. But, this is part of the game that potential host cities play for these kinds of things, so may the best lobster dinner win!
