After watching a snippet of Larry King's interview with Deion Sanders yesterday, in which Deion talks about the possible choice of being gay, he engaged me in a brief twitter conversation to clarify - and to an extent back away from - his comments.
@CydZeigler u didn't also I didn't say it was certain. I have friends whom felt both ways. Some felt they made a choice & others didnt.— DeionSanders (@DeionSanders) November 6, 2014
@CydZeigler thank u for understanding.— DeionSanders (@DeionSanders) November 6, 2014
And I truly do believe Deion tries to be a good man. I think he tries to do the right thing. But so many Christians struggle between their lives in 2014 and what they've been told about the bible for decades.
LZ Granderson pointed me to his CNN piece from 2010 on this very topic - definitely worth a read.
Deion did engage more on Twitter, unfortunately making the comparison to liars and thieves. Ugh.
I don't condone liars,theives,laziness,manipulators & anything that don't glorify God but I don't CONDEMN any1. I love as God loves. #Truth— DeionSanders (@DeionSanders) November 6, 2014
@zac_attacks true you're right. I stated it could be not it was. I apologize my friend. God bless— DeionSanders (@DeionSanders) November 7, 2014
