After our short break for Independence Day, we're back with a great interview lined up for our latest podcast! Former Wisconsin Badgers and Kansas Jayhawks football player Brad Thorson came out publicly as gay on Independence Day in a post on his blog titled "Seeing through the fog."

Thorson joined us to talk about his experiences in college football and his brief stint in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals, his coming out process and the reaction he's received, and finding a home in the sports world with the San Francisco Fog gay rugby team. He'll be traveling to Australia for the Bingham Cup later this year.

Thorson told us he has been surprised by the response his story has gotten from friends, former teammates and even his grandfather. He expected about 50% of the responses to be negative. Instead, it's been 100% positive.
