New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman supports marriage equality for gay people, and he isn't afraid to show it. On Sunday Edelman changed his Facebook and Twitter avatars to a picture (above) of him, dyed in rainbow colors. On Twitter he shot off a message of #LoveWins with this image:

JE11 rainbow

"JE" are his initials, and 11 is his number for the Patriots.

It's been great to see so many athletes, professional teams and others in sports publicly supporting the Supreme Court ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges that has legalized same-sex marriage across the country.

Edelman was drafted by the Patriots in the seventh round in 2009 and has been with the team ever since. He has become a key piece of the offense and (IMHO) should have been named the MVP of Super Bowl XLIX.

The Patriots publicly asked the Supreme Court to find in favor of same-sex marriage several months ago.
