It is impossible to separate sports frim LGBT rights. The biggest news was the passing of HB2 in North Carolina, the so-called "bathroom bill" that would discriminate against transgender people.
After passage of the bill, the NCAA stripped North Carolina of several championship events, while the NBA moved the All-Star Game out of Charlotte. Now comes word that the Democratic governor and Republican legislature have reached a deal on HB2 to win the NCAA's favor. But is the compromise good for LGBT people?
