Eric Radford and Megan Duhamel did it again Sunday morning, wowing the audience with a powerful free skate in the team event and claiming the top spot for Team Canada.

Radford and Duhamel scored 148.51, over 10 points better than the second-place Italian team of Valentina Marchei and Ondrej Hotaretk. The “Olympic Athletes from Russia” took third. Two nights ago the Canadian pair finished second to the Russians.

The cumulative team score has Canada with a huge six-point lead over the Russians, 45-39. With only five countries remaining for the final day of the team event competition, Canada would need to really struggle to lose the gold. The Americans are three points behind the Russians, and the Italians are one point behind them. Japan is in a distant fifth with 32 points.

Radford is the most decorated figure skater to come out publicly while still competing. He came out on Outsports in 2014. With Duhamel he has two world titles and two bronze world-championship medals. He also has a silver Olympic medal from Sochi when Canada finished second in the team event.
