The members of the USWNT are known for their fast feet, their skill at moving a soccer ball and frustrating their opponents. But who knew they could sing?
Mallory Pugh, Emily Sonnett, Rose Lavelle and Sam Mewis treated some teammates at their hotel in Lisbon to Christmas carols last month, and today seems like the perfect day to enjoy their surprisingly in-tune performances.
The caroling videos were posted to Facebook and Twitter last week, with heartfelt messages, including: “Some holiday cheer brought to you by the #USWNT! Happy Holidays from our family to yours!”
Mewis was dressed as Will Ferrell’s character, Buddy, from the holiday movie “Elf.”

In another video, the carolers surprised teammates Alex Morgan and Allie Long, among others, noting “We haven’t been kicked out of any hotels yet!”

The women were in Lisbon for a November friendly against Portugal. They won 1-0, notching a victory in the USWNT’s 500th game in program history. Who could ask for a better Christmas present?
