For Pride month, we’ve dedicated each day of June to telling the story of an individual athlete or coach whose shining moment changed LGBTQ sports.
These are historic moments, in which out members of the sports community made a difference through their athletic contributions to their individual or team achievement.
Our list, since it’s limited to 30 names, is nowhere near the complete compendium of sports accomplishments by lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender and queer people. We hope you’ll see our daily stories as reminders of what we as a community have achieved and feel inspired to make your own LGBTQ sports history.
