Erica Sullivan is back at the NCAA National Swimming Championships.

The Olympian has earned berths at the 2024 NCAAs for the 500 and 1650 freestyle races.

She’s ranked No. 23 in the 500, with her qualifying time seven seconds behind the top seed. She’ll have to have her best race of the season to earn a medal, though her personal best would land her on the podium.

In the 1650, she’s seeded No. 4 and she’ll be one to watch.

Sullivan competes for the University of Texas Longhorns. She competed for Team USA at the Tokyo Summer Olympics, taking home a silver medal in the 1,500-meter freestyle.

At the 2022 NCAA Championships, she took home a silver and bronze.

She’s been publicly out for a while, one of the faces of LGBTQ Pride for Speedo. She was named to the inaugural Outsports Power 100, celebrating the most influential out LGBTQ people in American sports.

The 2024 NCAA Swimming and Diving National Championships will be held March 20-23 at the University of Georgia. We expect to see other out athletes at the meet, though the qualifiers for diving haven’t yet been announced.
