pozpagepichsz.jpgAuthor Randy Boyd began writing for Outsports the year we were born with his Ballin’ column (including one that tabbed Tim Hardaway and John Amaechi as most likely to be gay). All these sweat-filled years later, the 46-year-old jock and former USC and UCLA cheerleader is still contributing to the subject of homosexuals in sports.

His football novel "Walt Loves the Bearcat" was a Lambda Literary Finalist, and he is currently working on "The Bearcat Boyz," a book series based on the novel. “The Boyz” are two teenagers, one black, one white, both in high school and in love. Throughout the series, both boys will play team sports. Look for the Bearcat Boyz debut “sooner than later, I promise,” as Randy told us.

Randy celebrated his 46th birthday by appearing in the April issue of Poz Magazine, where he talks about now having lived 23 years with HIV/AIDS. The focus of the issue is sports. Check it out here. Happy Birthday and congrats, Randy!
