Western Cup is an annual gay multisport event in the cold of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This April 1-3, Apollo Calgary celebrates the 28th anniversary of Western Cup, making it the longest running annual LGBT multi-sport tournament in North America. Apollo was formed in 1981 after a small group of individuals came together with the idea to create an athletic social group for LGBT people in the Calgary area. Each year, they attract over 500 athletes to participate and socialize during Easter weekend.
This year they are very exicted to welcome Dodgeball and the Canadian Gay National Curling Championships to their list of sports for the 28th anniversary. In addition to the new spots, they host Badminton, Bowling, Volleyball, Running, and Hockey. Head up to Calgary and join in the fun!
