Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe, former Viking Esera Tuaolo and University of Minnesota basketball star Trevor Mbakwe will headline a fund-raiser for marriage equality in Minneapolis on Friday. The event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Crooked Pint Ale House, 501 Washington Avenue South.
The athletes are working with Minnesotans for Equality, which is fighting a November ballot initiative that would change the state's constitution to ban same-sex marriage. Mbakwe wrote a powerful letter in support of marriage equality; Kluwe has done countless interviews in support and Tuaolo is one of the most prominent openly gay athletes in history.
Kluwe has signed a Vikings football that will be up for bid, with an amazing inscription:
Hat tip to Brad Michael, who has done a great job getting these athletes involved.
