Yahoo and Gay.com are reporting that Canadian hockey player Nancy Drolet has become one of Canada’s biggest name athletes to come out.

Drolet, 29, was apparently “married” with her partner, Nathalie Allaire, last week in a civil ceremony in Quebec. Same-sex civil unions became legal in Quebec earlier this year, reported the Ottawa Citizen.

Drolet’s accomplishments on the ice include being a member of Canada’s silver medal Olympic team in 1998 in Nagajo, Japan, and being named the Sport Federation of Canada Junior Athlete of the Year in 1992.
