Johnny Weir is known for his figure skating. Since his retirement from the sport, he’s made an even bigger name for himself in the United States commenting on mostly Olympic sports and wearing outlandish hats to the Kentucky Derby. Like ya do.
On Monday night, though, Weir took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the Rose Bowl, which many are calling one of the best bowl games in years. While he was cheering for the Penn State Nittany Lions, he also found himself congratulating one particular Trojan on a gutty performance.
Sports Bruhs...The player who most recently scored for Penn State goosed the referee's bottom in celebration. Is that regulation? ⛸— Johnny Weir (@JohnnyGWeir) January 3, 2017
Super wow @MattBoermeester! What a kick, what pressure!— Johnny Weir (@JohnnyGWeir) January 3, 2017
Weir has hit the Super Bowl before, as a commentator for NBC doing some lifestyle and fan interviews leading up to the peacock network’s 2015 broadcast of the game. He also (shocking) wore a wild outfit that was straight out of a sci-fi movie for the game.
And if you missed the Rose Bowl, well, we’re sorry. It was epic.
