Wotherspoon was among elite-level Australian field hockey players, including men, women and straight allies, who got nude for a calendar benefiting the Perth Pythons LGBT hockey club. He is Mr. December.
“Homophobia has no place in sport,” Wortherspoon. 24, said. “As an Australian hockey player, I'm proud to support this project. Your sexuality does not define your skill or commitment — and yet homophobia stops many LGBTI people from participating in sport. Sport should be inclusive for everyone."
The Pythons laid out the reason behind the calendar, which costs a little less than $20.
“Everyone can play. 85% of people have witnessed or experienced homophobia in a sporting environment. We want to change that. So we faced our fears and had a bit of fun making a nude calendar to show that anyone can play hockey."
