Robbie Rogers, the professional soccer player who made waves when he came out as gay several years ago, has found his way in front of the cameras for a new Target campaign aimed at elevating the chain’s clothing lines and sales.

Rogers appears in the commercials wearing clothing by Goodfellow & Co. It should be no big surprise that Rogers, who has made a name for himself with his smart fashion sense, particularly loved the designers’ slim-fit jeans. Outsports saw the ad during NFL Sunday football games, which is cool.

Rogers posted on Instagram about working with Target and their new line:

Had so much fun a few weeks ago filming with @Target. I'm really excited to be partnering with them to launch their all-new brand #Goodfellow. Lucky enough to have explored the line and I'll be sharing some of my favorites over the next few weeks.

We’re thankful to Target for featuring an out gay man — with a fiancé and baby — in their campaign, and we continue to be grateful to Rogers for his willingness to be a voice and a face for LGBT equality.

Rogers has been injured for most of the last year and did not play this season for the Galaxy.

Incidentally, you can find Rogers’ line of clothing, Hampton + Baker, online. The line is named after Rogers’ business partner, Alfie Baker, and Rogers, whose middle name is Hampton.
