Bryce Mitchell is the latest UFC fighter to say some crazy homophobic stuff that will get totally ignored or applauded by Dana White. All in an organization with many gay and lesbian fighters.
Mitchell took to Instagram on Wednesday and proclaimed various things about vaccines. Then he trained his ire on public schools and Edgar Allan Poe turning children gay.
Wait, what?

Mitchell wrote on Instagram that he had to homeschool his son, Tucker, and all of his children because, well, the gays and Satan run the public schools.
Verbatim:
“i love kids and i love the truth. we have to fite for our kids or evil will corrupt the next generation,” Mitchell wrote on Instagram. “this country is so evil only God can save us.”
He then launched into some claim that the government was going to take his child away because he wouldn’t give him vaccines. Then he told everyone he just loves everybody. Again, how he wrote it…
“remember i just got love in my heart so if sumone twists my words and makes me look like the bad guy, u will kno the real enemy.”
In the accompanying video, Mitchell says his son won’t go to public school because they make kids gay. As transcribed from Low Kick MMA:
“Tucker’s also going to be homeschooled,” Mitchell said. “We’re gonna have to homeschool all our kids or they’re going to end up turning gay and that’s the reason I’m gonna homeschool Tucker. I don’t want him to be a communist, I don’t want him to worship Satan, and I don’t want him to be gay.”
The video and the text accompanying it is so crazy, it’s easy to think it might be somebody creating a really good AI video.
Nope…
He then went on to claim Edgar Allan Poe is a problem because he made love to his cousin.
“My son ain’t gonna be reading no Edgar Allan Poe, ok? He’s gonna be reading the Bible,” Mitchell said.
Poe is a 19th Century writer who is widely considered one of the great American authors of all time.

Mitchell’s rant is the latest anti-gay nonsense spewed by fighters in Dana White’s UFC. Earlier this year, Sean Strickland went on multiple anti-gay rants that generated a bunch of headlines.
All of this is happening in an organization with many out gay and lesbian fighters, mostly on the women’s side. That includes Jessica Andrade, one of the great UFC champions. On the men’s side, Jeff Molina is bisexual. He hasn’t gotten a UFC fight since he came out publicly in 2023.

Despite his ridiculous claims about public school and Edgar Allan Poe making boys gay, he’s the one who gets half-naked and wrestles other half-naked men for the enjoyment of “straight” guys.
And he loves showing off his body and package for his male fans, too. You’d swear he was headed to Alegria.
He seems pretty unhinged in a lot of his videos. In one, he attacks conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, using anti-semitic tropes to attack him and defend another conservative voice, Candace Owens.
The man is not a Mensa candidate.
Mitchell is 16-2 in his professional career, with both losses coming in his last three matches. The 29-year-old is from Texarkana, Ark.
